Autodesk Inventor - Where's My Auto-Explode?

Really quick tip for you if you’re missing the old auto-explode functionality that was actually dropped from Inventor in the 2017 release. There is a very fast way to visually show an auto-explode of a model, and this is using the Connected Design tool in Inventor 2017 / 2018.

Note this is only visual so you can’t actually use the exploded view on a drawing view for instance, but you can navigate around the model to examine the modeling methods. And the good news is it takes about 10 seconds to do – even for pretty complex assemblies.

Check out the video to see how it’s done.
