Autodesk by Numbers

Useful tips by numbers.

1. Number of concurrent users per licence.

Whether single- or multi-user, each licence can only be accessed by one user concurrently. For licences that contain several applications (the AEC Collection for example), this remains the case and the licence is for the package, not the individual application. So, for a single licence, only one user can access the AEC Collection at a time, you cannot split the applications across multiple users.

3. Three is the magic number, here are three threes.

Number of electronic devices single-user licences can be installed on. This should be on devices away from the office and is generally seen as an office installation, home installation and installation on a laptop or portable device. It is still important to note (as per “1”) that this is for one user at a time.

The various cloud services offered as part of a subscription to Autodesk applications can be assigned to 3 users per licence – this applies to multi-user licensing. Access to the core application is managed by the licence server, however additional cloud services must be assigned via the Autodesk account.

For new single-user subscriptions, users will be given access to the current and up to three previous versions.

4. Previous versions for multi-user.

New multi-user subscribers are offered the current and access to up to four previous versions.

7. The number of specialised toolsets included in the “new” AutoCAD.

As of 2019, AutoCAD was rebranded to AutoCAD including specialised toolsets. This new “One AutoCAD” contains seven toolsets which were previously purchasable as individual products. The toolsets are Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical, Map 3D, MEP, Raster Design and Plant 3D.

These products are no longer available as individual purchases.

30. Max offline use.

Single-user subscriptions can access their application for 30 days offline before the application must connect to verify their licence.

90. Days before expiration a licence can be renewed.

Customers can renew their subscriptions up to 90 days in advance. The renewed contract will run from the original expiry date for the term specified.

What is an LCA? 3 Examples of Life-Cycle Assessments in Building Projects

12 November 2024

A Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a powerful tool used to measure the complete environmental impact of a building project. It evaluates the carbon footprint and other environmental effects throughout a building's life, across four key stages: production, use, end-of-life, and beyond. Below are three examples of how LCAs can guide decisions for more sustainable building projects.
